INSTALLATION GUIDE
Install your eSIM.
Say hello sooner.
Your eSIM sits beside your home SIM as a second line. Installing it takes a few minutes on Wi-Fi, with no app and no SIM swap.
Before you start
- Check your device supports eSIM and is unlocked.
- Connect to Wi-Fi. Your phone downloads the eSIM over the internet.
- Open your installation QR on another screen, such as a computer, tablet or printout. The QR and the manual details are in your delivery email and in My eSIMs.
- Check when your plan starts. Validity may begin at purchase, at installation or on first network connection, as shown on your plan.
iPhone
- Open Settings and tap Cellular. Some regions call it Mobile Service or Mobile Data.
- Tap Add eSIM (or Add Cellular Plan), then choose Use QR Code.
- Scan your QR. If the camera can’t read it, tap Enter Details Manually and enter the SM-DP+ address and activation code from your delivery email.
- Confirm the new plan when your iPhone asks, and tap Continue through the next screens.
- Give the new line a label you’ll recognise, such as Travel.
- For Cellular Data, choose your new travel line. Keep your home line for calls and SMS if you want your usual number to keep ringing.
Android
- Open Settings, then Connections (Samsung) or Network & internet (Pixel).
- Open SIM manager (Samsung) or SIMs (Pixel). Other phones may call it SIM card manager or Mobile network.
- Tap Add eSIM.
- Scan your QR. If scanning fails, tap Enter activation code manually and enter the code from your delivery email.
- Set mobile data to your new travel line. Leave calls and SMS on your home SIM if you want your usual number to keep working.
When you arrive
Turn on your travel line and turn on data roaming for it. A travel eSIM joins local networks as a visitor, so it has no data with roaming off. Turn data roaming off for your home line to avoid charges from your usual carrier.
Local plans issue the number described by their operator.
Your Discover+ US phone number appears on your phone after you install the eSIM and connect to a supported network. Check the eSIM line’s details on your phone. The number is not displayed in your eSIMsly dashboard or delivery email.
If something isn’t working
- “Can’t add eSIM”: move to a stable Wi-Fi network and try again.
- Installed but no service: check that data roaming is on for the travel line, that mobile data uses the travel line, and that you are inside your plan’s coverage.
- Keep the eSIM on your phone while you travel. If you removed it, contact support with your order reference before trying to install it again.
